Neck
The neck is made up of seven individual vertebrae and along with strong muscles and ligaments has to support the weight of the head. The head can weigh 5.4 kg in an average male about the weight of a 12lb bag of potatoes.
Neck pain can be caused by trauma to the head or whiplash injuries from road traffic accidents or sporting impact heading a football or doing a forward roll badly. Poor posture at home or at work while watching television, working or playing games at the computer as well as incorrect sleeping postures can misaligned the vertebrae in the neck giving rise to neck pain.
As well as treating your spine and muscles, your Chiropractor will advise you on sitting and sleeping posture with an excellent range or products for you to try before you buy.
